To talk about this village, its natural entourage and historical past, is to talk about Alves Redol a neo-realistic Portuguese writer who lived in this village to write a book called «Avieiros».  We intend to aware visitors of the importance of environment and the need of its preservation as a base for an environmental citizenship.

We pressure local authorities for the dangers of lack of planning, we are attentive to the aggressions done to the river and its surroundings, we value the local culture and defend gastronomy, we participate in students training, and we help to produce films and books.
